Mercedes E 63 AMG : Een zware bariton onder de kap

Ondanks dat de nieuwe Mercedes E-klasse er als een echte luxe-berline uitziet kan hij tot een echte bolide uitgebouwd worden ! AMG maakt van de auto een echt beest waarbij er heel wat onderdelen van de diabolische SL 63 AMG gebruikt worden.

Bedwelmende V8 !

Onder de motorkap vinden we uiteraard een AMG V8 terug. Uit 6300 cc weten de ingenieurs 525 pk en 630 Nm te puren. Voor de transmissie koos AMG natuurlijk voor zijn AMG Speedshift MCT met 7 gangen die voor het eerst in de SL 63 gemonteerd werd. Wat opvalt bij deze automaat is dat de koppelomvormer door een droge koppeling vervangen wordt. Hierdoor duren de overgangen in het beste geval slechts 100 milliseconden. Er staan vier modes ter beschikking: “C” (Controlled Efficiency), “S” (Sport), “S+” (Sport plus) en “M” (Manual). Dat de prestaties van de partij zijn lijdt natuurlijk geen twijfel. Van 0 tot 100 gaan er slechts 4,5 tellen voorbij en bij 250 km/u wordt alles elektronisch gelimiteerd. Maar de sportafdeling van Mercedes ging ook op zoek naar brandstofbesparing. Zo werd de inwendige wrijving onder handen genomen en werd het motorbeheer herzien. De versnellingsbak werd met dezelfde intentie herzien wat een beter rendement als een klassieke unit oplevert. Mercedes kondigt als gemiddeld verbruik 12,6/100 km aan.

Adaptatieve ophanging

Deze E63 AMG neemt ook de adaptieve ophanging van de SL 63 over. Hierbij heb je de keuze tussen drie modes: comfort, sport en sport+. Ook bij het ESP kan er uit drie standen gekozen worden: ingeschakeld, sport of … OFF ! In het laatste geval moet je wel eg opgepassen voor onverhoedse bewegingen van de rechter voet. Het remsysteem is ruim bemeten en de stuurinrichting werd wat directer.

Visueel

Aan de buitenkant laten enkele opvallende stijlkenmerken je toe om de E 63 AMG dadelijk te herkennen: 18-duims velgen, speciale bumpers met grote luchtinlaten, vier dikke uitlaten, verbrede spatborden enz…

Opel Insignia OPC : 300 pk

Verrassing op de Nurburgring ! De Opel Insigna OPC rijdt er immers proef en na de Ecoflex wordt dit de laatste versie die van het topmodel van Opel gepresenteerd wordt.

Het model zou niet voor het einde van 2009 in productie gaan en verschilt uiterlijk van het basismodel door zijn nieuwe voorbumper, de grote luchtinlaten, grote wielen en een dikke spoiler achteraan. Wat vermogen betreft mogen we op goed 300 pk rekenen die uit een nieuwe V6 met drukvoeding gepuurd worden.

Audi RS3 : De geruchten worden preciezer

Ondanks de dalende conjunctuur zijn de ultrasportieve RS-modellen van Audi nog steeds erg in trek. We herinneren ons zeker de RS3, de RS4, RS6 en recent nog de nieuwe TT-RS. Deze laatste komt exclusief met de fabuleuze 5-cilinder.

Minimum 300 pk

De ingenieurs van Ingolstadt kennende zou het ons verbazen dat deze motor enkel onder de kap van de TT blijft. Een verantwoordelijke van het merk gaf trouwens onlangs toe dat de constructeur overweegt om de motor onder kap van de Audi A3 te lepelen. Met een ultrakrachtige RS3 als gevolg. De geblazen 5-cilinder van 2,5 liter levert dan minimaal 300 pk ! De hiërarchie moet immers gerespecteerd worden en de TT RS moet met zijn 340 pk toch wat meer vermogen behouden.

Zwaargewichten !

Deze motorisatie zou er moeten voor zorgen dat de A3 weer in de top van het segment kan meespelen. Onlangs was er immers BMW die hun 135i coupé van een zescilinder van 306 pk voorzagen. Maar bij Audi is de Quattro uiteraard serie !

SsangYong C200 : Koreaanse metamorfose

We hoeven niet rond de pot te draaien. De vorige SsangYong’s hebben ons nooit kunnen beroeren.
